Specials Metadata incomplete

I have been having an issue recently where the metadata for specials is not complete - specifically, the "airs during season" and "airs before episode" are not always populating.

I have TheTVDB configured as my primary metadata source for this library, and have confirmed that the information is present in my preferred language.

I don't have the metadata locked on either the episode, season, or series.  I have tried both "replace all metadata" and "search for missing metadata"  on the "refresh metadata" option for both the season and the episode.

I have confirmed that the episodes are correctly being identified.  All other metadata, including images, is being pulled correctly - it's just those two fields.

If I manually fill out the two fields, the information saves correctly.  I am attaching two NFOs - one from an automatic creation ("S00E74 - Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou OVA 2 - Rachnera Disappears") and one that I edited myself after the metadata in question didn't import or update ("S00E73 - Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou OVA - Gym Pool").  I can see that the two fields are present in the metadata that I manually entered, and not present in the one I did not.

I have also attached my server log.

Please let me know if there is any other information that can help.

Which Sort Order are you using?

Those get populated/downloaded only if special is flagged "critical to story".

Tedfroop, I am using aired.

Grimreaper, that's good to know, if unfortunate - I have some 73 more specials for this series alone to add.  I'm wondering if that it something that could be toggled on or off in the future.

Some more options to control that were mentioned some time ago, when previous Special episodes handling was initially reworked - guess it just hadn't made its way to the top. Related thread:

Hi, you're saying you want all these episodes to appear inline with the normal episodes? because that's what will happen when that is filled in.

Because this was removed in version 4.8 for no reason .... when we had a switch in the options before to select if we wanted it or not ...

The best solution would be to have the critical to the story flag as part of the server database.

Or a quick throw-in would be a library option to always import this from tvdb regardless.

Luke, yes, I want them to show in-line with the rest of the episodes.

Having something that could be toggled on to always import that per library, or even per show, would be fantastic.
