Yonto Player: an Emby client for Android TV, with the server set up from your phone

Hi all,

I made an Android TV player called Yonto Player, and I'm putting it out to some real Emby users for feedback.

What pushed me to build it: typing a server address, username and password one letter at a time with a remote. So the TV shows a QR code, you fill the form on your phone's keyboard, and it comes across encrypted - the relay only passes it on, and nothing is saved until you confirm with the remote.

For Emby I've tested it against my own server: browse, play, resume, and the phone version of the same. Live TV I have not tried, so take it as untested there.

The rest: D-pad first with focus where you'd expect, Back returns to the exact card, Continue playing and a Watch Next row in the launcher, and the phone/tablet app has picture-in-picture and double-tap seeking. It also does Jellyfin and Plex, and on Android, files from a NAS over WebDAV or SMB. No account, no ads, no analytics.yonto-tv-setup-qr.thumb.png.6907742607175346749f179e55ebb72e.pngyonto-tv-home.thumb.png.5571d32e3383fcf8d3347023c0a516fe.png

Free with one source; Pro (more sources, plugins) is a one-off payment, no subscription. It provides no content - you bring your own server.

Keen to hear what's missing for your Emby setup, especially anything that would stop you trying it.

Thanks folks.
