Emby Server Suddenly Won’t Launch – EXE Opens and Closes Instantly: version 4.10.0.40

Emby Server worked perfectly till about 2 weeks ago. Now when I run EmbyServer.exe, it immediately exits with no error message.

The browser shows “can’t reach this page” on localhost:8096. 

The installation folder is still present and EmbyServer.dll shows version 4.10.0.40, but the server process closes instantly every time.

The EXE also keeps appearing in Downloads when I try to launch it. Nothing changed on my system during this time.

Looking for guidance on why EmbyServer.exe starts - or seems to try and start and then stops instantly - what could cause EmbyServer.exe to start and immediately exit?

First off, it has been a long time since I ran Emby in Windows, but the first hing you need to do is find and examine the Emby log.  It may help you figure out the problem.

The name of the log is embyserver.txt.  Examine / post it here.  If you don't know where it is, just do a Windows search at the top folder of your Emby installation.

Found these under programdata logs. All  9 September, except the last embyserver which is todays.

Forgot to mention, under users>app data >roaming there is no Emby Server folder

I would try installing the server again from the website on top of your existing installation.
