Hi

I'm a bit of a luddite so please bare with me.....

I have set up emby for remote access using no-ip.com and port forwarding etc etc.....

If I type in the my repote access address (say http://abcd.ddns.net) into a web browser (on my phone or a PC) remotly I can then enter my credentials and use emby on the browser.

However, if i try the same thing on the app on my phone (pixel 9) or tablet (pixel tablet and iPad) it says the server cant be reached........

i'm a bit lost on how to proceed

When using the app, are you explicitly typing http:// in the host field as I can see you're not running HTTPS -- the app may be defaulting to HTTPS unless specified.

Host field: http://abcd.ddns.net
Port field: 8096

Hi, by "the app" you mean our hosted web app, https://app.emby.media ? That's the only app that will give you this message.

And the message tells you what to do - it gives you four choices. Choose one of them. Which one of them would you like to proceed with?

if they were using the hosted web app, wouldn't we see an address bar like in the second screenshot which is clearly from the mobile browser?

looks like they are referring to the Android app -- are you sure it doesn't show that message also?

Not if they installed it as an app, which the hosted web app supports, or if they bookmarked it to the home screen, or if they just happen to be running it full screen.

The hosted web app is the only app that has that message.
