Subtitles Do Not Display on Roku Ultra and LG Smart TV on Recorded Television Shows

Subtitles are not being displayed, when enabled, on recorded television shows on either Roku Ultra or LG Smart TV (webOS).  The television shows are being recorded from an off-the-air (OTA) antenna via an HDHomerun tuner.  Subtitles function as they should on HiSense Televisions (Google/Android) and Nvidia Shield streaming device (Android).  Also, subtitles from programming ripped from DVDs and BDs that are stored on the Emby server display as they should on the Roku and LG TVs.

I believe the subtitles displayed on the Roku Ultras earlier this year, pre May, when we were viewing recorded, newly, released network episodes.  Over the summer, we did not record any episodes.  We noticed the subtitle issue with the start of the new television season.
