NFO files

Is it correct the Emby only pulls from an nfo file and never writes edits back to it? I see if I change the season and episode number in an nfo the change will show up in Emby. But if I paste in an episode Overview to the Emby metadata, it will not add to the nfo.

You have separate library settings for NFO Reader and NFO Saver - behavior will follow your selection.

Yes there is. I swear I've never seen that Saver section before.

Yeah, it's been there forever but it's somewhat easy to overlook. Logically, it is placed where it should be (Readers>Downloaders>Savers), but maybe practically it should be moved up, below Readers, so both NFO-related settings are kinda grouped.

Exactly where do i find both of these?

In server library settings i find read AND write to nfo. 

And in individual library settings i see the option to save as nfo or not (disable/enable)

I would like the setup to be like @GrimReaper mentioned in another post with Emby just reading nfo files and not writing as i use an external scraper that writes nfo:s.

Not sure I've quite understood what you're asking, as it appears you've found both of those settings: if you want NFOs to just be read, on a per-library basis: leave NFO Metadata Reader enabled

and NFO Metadata Saver disabled/toggled-off.
