Orionas21 4 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Hi All, I have changed couple of weeks ago from Emby for AndroidTV to EMby for Android in my Sony Bravia in order to test the interface and the functionality of it. I was a little bit disapointed so i decided to switch back and install 2.1.55 rel but then nothing was working. I was unable to play any movie from my internal LAN to Sony Bravia. I rollback to 2.1.48g without success and then back to 2.1.23g to finally be able to play the content. embyserver-63924257771.txt embyserver-63924336000.txt embyserver-63924173908.txt
Luke 43124 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
Orionas21 4 Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 Hi Luke, The EMBY for Android was working ok without any issue. In the uploaded files you may notice that it is ok 3.5.55 release. Yet the Android TV version has simpler interface in regards of settings and more robust user management especially for kids profiles. The internal storage is unfortunately limited on this TV so I can not maintain both apps.

Orionas21 4 Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 (edited) Look at those differences. To go to settings I push one button while in Android 2 and it opens also server settings... The menu in kids movies is simple and neat. Yet have you identify the issue? My TV auto update again the app and again I'm not able to play anything. Edited September 9 by Orionas21
Luke 43124 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 The second screenshot is a left flyout menu to allow you to quickly reach any of the top level sections. A lot of apps do that nowadays. We could add an option to allow you to hide all of the server settings.

Orionas21 4 Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 Also the subtitle menu is different. It is huge and covers almost all the screen. I want to change the position of the subs and the menu actually hides them. One more is the zoom. You have more options in ATv than auto,fill, cover... Many more interface things that personally I dislike. In regards of the accounts I don't want to create multiple. I want to have as less as I can. I monitor my server real time so in case I see any abnormal behavior I stop the movie and pop-up a text. This is not the reason that i opened this issue, to debate about the interfaces. Do you have any update on the reported issue? Do you need additional logs? I know that the team wants to promote the Android client but some off us still prefer the simple things in ATv and generally in life!! Thank you for your effort!!

May not be something you want to consider but Roku devices are known for their simple interfaces and our Roku app mirrors that. It works much like the Android TV app but even simpler in some regards (there are no context menus for instance). So, that could be something you want to consider for your kids. Just a suggestion. 1

And this has been added for the next update to the app. The 1st menu with the SUBS yes it is in the right side but it is huge. The second menu for the Subs Appearance is in the center and also huge. On the TV it would be in the lower right similar to the other menus down there.

With the next app update it will be docked to the right like so: At least on TV. On small mobile screens it will still be the same.
