Donovan1 0 Posted Friday at 09:58 PM Posted Friday at 09:58 PM Im having problems accessing my emby account thats attached to my server. I originally never had one and the ones that would have been it, doesn't work. I tried to recover everything but its not showing in the directory thats giving. This server is on the Nvidia Shield Pro and everything was working fine until this happened... I also tried to make a new account and that didn't work either, it just put me in a constant loop to where I have to sign in and the password doesn't work. Is there a better link, better instructions or even a way to start from scratch, this is very frustrating and this is the only way it seems to get a hold of you. Thank you and I hope your able to help.
seanbuff 1406 Posted Saturday at 02:59 AM Posted Saturday at 02:59 AM I take it you've already tried this? https://emby.media/support/articles/Admin-Password-Reset.html What was the outcome?
Donovan1 0 Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM It doesn't provide me with a file to reset it. I tried manually finding it and searching for it, no where to be found.

Donovan1 0 Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Its becoming clear that you guys dont want to help me by asking stupid questions like "what website" when im on the website that emby provides. Just give me information to how to start from scratch and ill be on my way, cause clearly your all must be new to this

Just give me information to how to start from scratch and ill be on my way, cause clearly your all must be new to this You'll have to warltch your attitude as you have two devs, a mod and a long time community member replying to you - and each of them knows very well what they ask and what for. If you're unsatisfied with the support provided, express it in a different manner or I'll be more than happy to escort you out. Permanently.
Donovan1 0 Posted yesterday at 03:16 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:16 PM You can do what you want, if you dont want to provide me the information that is needed, then send me a link to someone that can. Ive been straight forward in telling you what the problem is and there has been no help yet!
ebr 16687 Posted yesterday at 03:36 PM Posted yesterday at 03:36 PM Hi. Can you please provide the address of the website you are talking about because we are confused by your questions. Exactly where is your server installed? On what machine on your network and what OS? Thanks.
Donovan1 0 Posted yesterday at 04:40 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:40 PM Yes, the website was your emby community or the website itself that helps you install it on to your device. The emby server is installed on a Nvidia Shield Pro, and when I go to find the document on how to reset the password, it says i have no permission to access the directory. This is the help I need, I need a way to get that file so reset the password or a way to just start from the beginning, even if I have to uninstall everything and make a new account.
speechles 2109 Posted yesterday at 04:53 PM Posted yesterday at 04:53 PM To make this entirely clear. You have used the tutorial below, right? https://emby.media/support/articles/Admin-Password-Reset.html After resetting the password the URL given to you is leading to the error that you lack permission?
Donovan1 0 Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Yes, when I go to forget the password, the link that is showed wont take me to the link that I need to reset my password.

That's obviously the path from the screenshot of the support KB. Have you followed the path shown to you on your own server? What happens when you try opening that path? Be specific.

Ignore the bit before \Emby-Server and go from there. That is an example for a Windows based file for the user carlo, which you won't have on your Nvidia Shield. Possibly the file is located here: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.emby.embyserver/programdata I'm not 100% sure though. Edited 20 hours ago by CBers
Donovan1 0 Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago No, I dont even receive the link to try to reset the password because where it saves to, I lack the permission to access the file to reset the password.

HI, Emby is the software. By "website", we mean the owners of the Emby server that you are trying to connect to. Who are they? We don't have any control over someone's individual server machine that you are connecting to. 1
Neminem 1881 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 minute ago, Donovan1 said: Im the owner of the emby server Then you should have access to the path that is shown when resetting the password. It what way don't you have access? Any error messages? Do you have a File Manager on your Shield such as X-Plore? @LukeFor an Emby server on an Nvidia Shield, where would the password reset file be saved to? Perhaps the "Admin Password Reset" page needs updating with the locations for different OS versions, as the one exampled is for a Windows system. If you follow the examples in this thread, then you should be able to enter the following into the browser: http://<IP:PORT>/web/index.html#!/startup/forgotpasswordpin.html Where IP:PORT are the IP address of your Shield and the port you set up for Emby (default ia 8096), but you will need the PIN from the file saved to the Emby server. Then just do that - uninstall and reinstall it! If it's really your own server and you've managed to install Emby Server by sideloading an Android apk, then this shouldn't be any problem for you.
