UGREEN - DXP6800 Pro

Hi All,

I have recently bought the UGREEN DXP6800 Pro and I’m having issues getting Emby working.

I’m installing this image in docker https://hub.docker.com/r/emby/embyserver

I’m clearly doing something wrong as my Synology build is rock solid and this is all over the place.

Do we have a docker install guide for the UGREEN until the native application is released?

It doesn’t matter what method i use i still get issues with the server not creating LibraryMonitor for my media libraries even though Emby has RW permissions.

Cheers,

Chris

I removed it and proceeded with the install.  Installed fine and works however i created a test library called movies and when I add new content to a library it is not processed at all even though I have checked "Enable real time monitoring" upon reviewing the logs no library watcher is created.

Hi Luke, I’m confused.

How else do you want me to say that "Enable real time monitoring" isn’t working on the UGREEN.  This seems to be a known issue??

I followed the guide to the letter, install went as expected.

I setup the server with basic options as i have done 5 times now as i thought i must have been doing something wrong with my docker install that’s why i asked for the guide (turns out i wasn’t) i create the media links to /config and all my media folders and deployed the server.

Setup the GUI and added a test library called movies.  I then dropped in the film called Alien (1979) in the media folder "real time monitoring" is set up on and every single time nothing.

The only way i can get Emby to detect new media is a manual scan.

Apart from this bug it works a treat, but it must be permissions of some sorts??

Cheers,

Chris

The only thing i can see in the logs is this Watching directory with new FileSystemWatcher for /movies for item 4 but i have no idea what the "for item 4" means

is the media on the nas?

Yes it’s on the NAS in volume2/media/movies btrfs file system.  Volume 2 also has a 2TB M.2 read cache

volume1 is an M.2 NVME drive for system apps, docker and virtual machines etc

Do you have to use btrfs ? INotify probably does not support that.

The only other option when creating the storage pool was ext4 and I don’t like the limitations so I chose btrfs as most users would do with large storage pools.  I have 6 x 18TB drives and want to use snapshots.  I cannot do that with ext4.  Also my current Synology NAS uses btrfs and Emby runs fine on that picks up any changes to the media folders.
