When I click on an episode, Stay on the current episode's poster

Hello, here's how Emby is currently designed: When I click on Episode 4, the poster at the bottom switches to the poster for Episode 5 (as shown in the video).

I hope the poster stays with Episode 4.

In other words: When I click on an episode, it stays on the poster for that episode.

I'm not used to the current design, when I click on Episode 4, I want to see everything about Episode 4, including its poster. But Emby shows the poster for Episode 5 instead, which really bothers me.

Let's take a look at how Jellyfin does it: When you click on Episode 4, the poster for Episode 3 appears.

Well, it's pretty hard to use, too... but at least it's better than Emby, because in Jellyfin, I can at least see the poster for Episode 4.

 

Now let's take a look at how Plex handles this on TV: it uses a different design so that when we select Episode 4 to play, we see the poster for Episode 4—perfect!

 

In short, Emby should take a cue from Jellyfin and Plex—their designs are the way to go.

Of course, you don’t have to completely overhaul Emby’s current design; you could simply add an option that allows us to “When I click on an episode, Stay on the current episode's poster”

why not just enable the poster on the detail screen? then you will see the poster for episode 4.

Hello, this solution works on the web, but it doesn't work on Android TV.

Because when I open this option on Android TV, The whole layout looks unbalanced and a little odd. That’s why Plex and Jellyfin haven’t adopted this design.

As shown in the image, you can see that Wholphin’s interface is much more attractive and harmonious.

Hi, I noticed that the design of Emby for Android TV is exactly what I expected! I was pleasantly surprised!

(But I’d rather not use Emby for Android TV—it has fewer features and more issues.)

 

As shown in the video, when I select Episode 3 and press the down arrow on the remote, the following happens:

Episode 3 is selected in the “More from” section.

I found that the design of Emby for Android TV was exactly what I was looking for. 
As shown in the video, when I select Episode 3 and press the down arrow on the remote, the following happens: 
Episode 3 is selected in the “More from” section.

 In other words, on Emby for Android TV, the poster displayed under “More from” is always the current episode.

Because Emby for Android TV has a lot of issues, such as this bug, I gave up on Emby for Android TV and switched to the Emby Universal App.

However, the design of the Emby Universal App is odd—it’s far inferior to the “always display the current episode’s poster” design of Emby for Android TV.

Here's how Emby Universal App is currently designed: When I enter Episode 3 and press the “Down” button on the remote, the “More from” section moves the cursor to Episode 4 or Episode 2. (as shown in the video).

This design prevented me from seeing the poster for the current episode, so I enabled "Show a poster on the detail screen".

Then I noticed a BUG on my Android TV

Therefore, the Emby Universal App currently does not support the feature where “the poster displayed under ‘More from’ is always the current episode,” unless you port this design from Emby for Android TV to the Emby Universal App.

 

By the way, this design by Emby Universal App is quite illogical, because both Plex and third-party Emby clients use a design that “displays the poster for the current series.”

Hi.  A feature that you would like that doesn't exist is not a "bug" .

Our apps are designed to use the internal player within them.  We provide the ability to use external players for odd situations but do not intend to support every feature in every external app.
