Hu7cH 1 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 In a newly introduced emby client update (version 2.1.48g) on my Nvidia shield (version 9.2.4 (33.2.0.400)) has been broken overnight so now there is no audio for 70%+ of my media unless I turn on the following options: Use the option to invoke a separate video player (it uses VLC and you are then opting out of all the emby playback magic) Use the option to force non-supported dolby codecs (and the playback performance is then abysmal when scrubbing or play/pausing) Additional information: Emby Server Version is 4.9.5.0 NOTE: This is not an issue with the normal Android app. 1
kicsrules 4 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 i'm on the same boat, AC3 doesn't work in the TV version.... it worked before

Hu7cH 1 Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 Sorry, but I've uninstalled the android TV client and moved onto the android one as this was a significant regression I couldn't live with. Also, I'm blown away that this was able to get through your build process and the sort of reasons I left Plex.

The issue is apparently isolated to very specific configurations that none of our beta testers (which is a whole lot) appear to have. We are looking into it. Thanks.
ebr 16516 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Before we can attempt to address it, I will need someone with the issue to do this, however. I cannot reproduce on any of my test systems either. Thanks. atwigger 0 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 +1 on this issue. Infuriating that this software would be released without thorough testing. Nvidia Shield Emby app Emby server running in Docker

Please try the beta or the standard app. This issue only affects a very small percentage of people and was not picked up by any beta testers.
Jubaz 0 Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago Any news on this, I am having the same issue, I have 3 nvidia shield and it is only the 2017 nvidia shield That is affected. Emby runs in docker (Synology) and the Emby client has updated only on the 2017 model. Why would it be pushed only to this model ?? Eac3 does not work and must be converted to DD to get audio. Subtitles imbedded in mkv does not show either And some settings changed on it's own in the client too. Quick question, I am running the "Emby for android" client, should I be running the "Emby" client instead?? I just wonder because "Emby for android" is older but better/easier to use, vs the newer Emby client.

If the problem persists then provide logs as requested Also, try the standard Android app and compare to see if that works.
