daldana 134 Posted Thursday at 06:51 PM Posted Thursday at 06:51 PM Shield is connected to LAN via ethernet, connected to Samsung Smarthub via HDMI, soundbar connected to Smarthub via HDMI also. Again, this setup worked fine yesterday with no changes made to it.
ebr 16502 Posted Thursday at 06:56 PM Posted Thursday at 06:56 PM It seems that setup should at least support DD so I'm think it could be an HDMI handshake issue as to why it is not reporting support for it. You might consider hooking the Shield up to the soundbar directly if that is an option. Changes in the app are why you are getting no audio but, you are not getting the best audio due to something in the setup or configuration of how things are hooked up.
FrostByte 5538 Posted Thursday at 07:16 PM Posted Thursday at 07:16 PM My setup is SHIELD -> HDMI IN -> Samsung soundbar -> HDMI OUT/E-ARC -> Samsung TV That way I get all the audio codec support of the soundbar which is way more than the TV supports. However, yes you would think it would report at least DD 5.1 support with it the way you have it. 1
daldana 134 Posted Thursday at 07:53 PM Posted Thursday at 07:53 PM Since the Shield and my Polk soundbar each have one HDMI connection each, connecting the Shield to the soundbar is not an option as there wouldn't be any connection to the Samsung TV. It seems like the app needs to be repaired as there, again seems to be, multiple users with the same problem.

Please try the next beta of the app.
daldana 134 Posted Thursday at 09:27 PM Posted Thursday at 09:27 PM Hopefully, the next beta comes out soon so I can continue to use Emby as it's my favorite.

daldana 134 Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM Posted yesterday at 02:30 PM Thank you very much! Audio is working fine now. 1 1
Henkmeister 4 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I got this issue too. My (2.1) setup is: Nvidia Shield Pro -> MillSO USB To 3.5mm Audio Jack Adapter -> Genelec F One subwoofer. Is this too exotic un-hidef setup? This setup has been working for couple of years just fine.

Henkmeister 4 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 4.10.0.20 beta I did ran in to the problem when using the latest stable. Then updated to beta, but it did not help.

FrostByte 5538 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 25 minutes ago, Henkmeister said: Sorry, the app version is 2.1.48g I believe the fix is in .50. You may need to sideload or join the beta on Google if you don't see it in the store. 1
Henkmeister 4 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I did not find a way to easily join the Google Beta or am not that handy with sideloading, so I just installed the non Android tv version of the app and now both have working audio. What happened?

What happened? The problem was only with the AndroidTV app. Something when .48 hit Google store that caused some people to lose audio playback, etc. It should be fixed in the latest version though I believe.
Henkmeister 4 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think I will try these suggestions if the audio goes out again. ATM I happy when it works and I can watch my movie. 1

ebr 16502 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Unfortunately, Android compresses the logs so I can't see the early playback behavior but, I think, this is the first thing that is happening: 07-18 10:12:58.139 7248 7248 I System.out: ***** Got error from Exo player: Response code: 404 07-18 10:12:58.139 7248 7248 I System.out: Playback error - Failed to load video 07-18 10:12:58.140 7248 7248 I System.out: Player error encountered - retrying ... which is quite odd - to get a 404 on a playback url. Can I please see the server log that includes those times?
