Kramerika 18 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) I am not sure when this happened, but Emby on my Shield TVs is no longer playing Dolby Digital AC3 2.0 or 5.1 or DTS 5.1. I get no sound. I have to use the Playback Correction to get any sound. We watched a DTS movie just a few weeks ago that played fine. The audio is set to Auto in Playback, but I have not touched any settings in a long long time. This is with two different Shield TVs, one connected to a Sony receiver that supports all of those codecs and another sound bar that does the same. Any advice on how to get it back would be appreciated! *update* After some messing around with restarting the hardware, the sound for Emby on the Shield TV connected to the receiver works again. I cannot get it to work on the other Shield TV connected to my sound bar. Other apps work fine. This is the Android TV version, and the app version is 2.1.48g. Edited 20 hours ago by Kramerika
Luke 42709 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Kramerika 18 Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago (edited) I sent a log after starting Avengers Age of Ultron which has DTS sound but is not playing any audio. I updated my post above with some new information as I did get it to work on one of my Shield TVs. I also tried the regular Android app on the one that does not work, and the audio was direct playing as it should. It feels like the update to the Android TV version in combination with something specific to the audio connection is causing the issue. The Shield TV is connected to the TV by HDMI. The TV passes through the signal to the sound bar with an optical cable. Also sent logs for Descendants for DD AC3 5.1 and a Seinfeld episode that is DD AC3 2.0 stereo. Justinnnnnnnnnn 0 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I had the same problems yesterday with my nvidia shield. It would not play direct audio through the tv with hdmi or my Bluetooth headphones over aptx. I fixed it by downgrade emby for Android TV 2.1.49g to version 2.1.26g and everything started working again and then disabled auto updates. i did test other apps and they had no sound troubles, just this freshly updated emby for Android tv app.
Kramerika 18 Posted 55 minutes ago Author Posted 55 minutes ago How do you downgrade Emby for Android TV? I can't find a way to do it.

The app is not going to be able to determine what is supported in that case. Have you tried enabling/disabling the pass thru options in the settings? Or, alternatively, you can just use the standard app if that is working for you.
