doggypatch 3 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 The only information I can find on this topic appears to be a few years old. Has development on Emby for Android TV stopped? If so, why is it still available for download?
yocker 1752 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Stil being developed but they will eventually move to the normal app.
doggypatch 3 Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 So to install it now, from your response, sounds rather moot.

FrostByte 5549 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Install both and run the one you like the most for now. Some minor things work in one and not the other and it's good to compare if a problem arises. The transition has been going on for about 6 years now and we all may be dead before the AndroidTV app is completely done with. 1 4 2

Their end goal is to eventually consolidate to the standard Android app on all Android devices which shares an appearance and code with a lot of other apps of theirs. Which is why that thread you linked to was created to bring some of the features of the old AndroidTV app to the new one before they totally do away with the AndroidTV app. However, ebr is still maintaining the AndroidTV app and if nothing else at least keep it functional though maybe not spending as much time and adding new functions like he used to. 2
mlcarson 13 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago One thing I noticed missing from the Android client versus the AndroidTV one is that there's no direct channel number navigation. I guess that's to be expected since Android devices wouldn't have a remote control or keyboard capable of numeric entry but it's a feature that I like in the AndroidTV client.
