Racerprose 29 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 (edited) So TOS 7 stable is out now and for some reason if you try to do manual updates of Emby versions it wipes the config and you need to start over. Not sure if the issue lies on Embys end with TOS 7 or if it is a TOS 7 issue. Clearly this is not ideal as you want to be able to keep your library config and not need to start over every time there is a stable or beta update! Edited July 8 by Racerprose
Luke 42849 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Hi, this isn't normal. What versions of Emby Server and DSM did you update from?
gluk147 4 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) Before the update, I had TOS 6 and Emby Server 4.10.0.16 beta installed. Today I updated to TOS 7. The Emby version remained the same: 4.10.0.16. However, all Emby settings were deleted because the settings folder was moved. Updating to 4.10.0.17 didn't help. I had to manually copy the metadata folder from Emby to ffdetected. It doesn't seem to matter the version. Currently on 4.9.0.70. If I update to stable 4.9.5.0 all settings and config are erased. Same happens if updatin to beta Emby versions. This only happens on latest TOS 7 Edited July 9 by Racerprose
richt 100 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Take a look at these items. Emby and TOS 7 are currently out of sync https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=10180 Still waiting......

You'll be waiting a while, thats why manual is the best way. But right now with TOS 7 a manual update breaks things. Don't know if the issue is on Emby or TerraMasters end. To be fair, TOS 7 is a new OS version, so if they made changes how things work, its probably up to Emby to make sure they are following the OS way. Emby do after all offer different versions depending on OS version currently. I think they need to do that with TOS 7 now. @Luke

Racerprose 29 Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 (edited) Is this a Emby issue or TOS 7 issue? @gluk147@Luke I will note there is a new TOS 7 update out today that mentions library scanning fixes for Emby but no mention of a fix for this issue. Edited July 28 by Racerprose
gluk147 4 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I think it's TOS because when I updated TOS to the latest version (last week), I edited the config file again.
Racerprose 29 Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 Okay it would be helpful if everyone sent this to TerraMaster support so they get on it. support@terra-master.com

richt 100 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 This is an issue that TerraMaster says it is in close communication on with Emby. I have posted multiple times on this both here and in the TerraMaster forum. It BAFFLES me that @Lukeasks questions about what version you are on as I have been posting here about issues with the TerraMaster builds since December 2025 and his replies to my posts show that he is aware of a problem and has presented no options for me to test recent builds to see if the issues are addressed. https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?p=58885#p58885 Since this fix seems to be out for delivery on a very slow train, KEEP posting both here and on the TerraMaster forums to see if we can get any traction to speed things up.
Clanck 0 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) So I made the unfortunate mistake of updating my TNAS-F4-424 Pro to TOS 7, I run Emby Server in Docker with container pulled from Linuxserver,io, Now Emby and access the folders with my media files. Emby can see the folders but wont point to them when I create a new library. I am reluctant to roll back to TOS 6. Please help, not very experienced with docker or CLI! Edited August 1 by Clanck
richt 100 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) This may be more of a TOS 7 upgrade issue than Emby or Docker. After upgrading from 6 to 7 the way folder and file permissions are handled changes and should have been modified after the upgrade completed. I would check on that in the TM forums before rolling back. I'm currently running Emby in Docker on TOS 7, so it can work. Edited August 1 by richt 2
Racerprose 29 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Terramaster has released the latest Emby on their app store. Who wants to be the first to test? lol

Racerprose 29 Posted 19 minutes ago Author Posted 19 minutes ago Supposedly Terramaster are saying the code in Emby is going to need to be updated going forward with TOS 7 and that for this new version they have modified it so people do not lose their configuration. However, I have not tested updating yet.
