Trevor68 70 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago So remember when it was decided to stop caching upcoming shows and make it a live query. Well here is proof that it was a shite decision. {"type":"https://developers.cloudflare.com/support/troubleshooting/http-status-codes/cloudflare-5xx-errors/error-524/","title":"Error 524: A timeout occurred","status":524,"detail":"The origin web server did not return a complete response within the 120-second Proxy Read Timeout window. The connection was established, but the origin took too long to respond.","instance":"a05af208fd0f9a8b","error_code":524,"error_name":"origin_response_timeout","error_category":"origin","ray_id":"a05af208fd0f9a8b","timestamp":"2026-06-03T01:34:46Z","zone":"emby.cannardy.com","cloudflare_error":true,"retryable":true,"retry_after":120,"owner_action_required":true,"what_you_should_do":"**Wait and retry.** Back off for at least 120 seconds. If the error persists, the website operator should check for long-running processes or an overloaded origin.","footer":"This error was generated by Cloudflare on behalf of the website owner."}
visproduction 360 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Cloudflare error: https://www.iphalo.com/blog/cloudflare-522-524-errors-fix/ Quote Error 522: The Handshake Failure This error occurs at the Network Layer. Cloudflare attempts to establish a TCP connection (SYN) to the origin server (or through your proxy) but does not receive an acknowledgement (SYN-ACK) within the designated window. The Cause: The request is being dropped before a connection is even established. In Automation: This often happens when a target site’s firewall silently drops packets from known Datacenter IPs. The server doesn’t reject the connection (which would be a “Connection Refused”); it simply ignores it, causing Cloudflare to wait until it times out. Trevor are you perhaps in the UK? Connectivity from overseas to the metadata on a US server, might be part of the issue. Does it eventually clear and show upcoming episodes? It could be an issue with Emby. See more details on this error here. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cloudflare-5xx-errors%2Ferror-524+timeout+UK+server&ia=web Edited 12 hours ago by visproduction
Trevor68 70 Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago it has always been historically slow, but recently I put my server behind a cloudflare tunnel, so it seems slow plus cloudflare is not a good combo.
