zhianjo 0 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Hi, I have a problem with the new version 4.9.5.0 for synology. My movies don't start with the latest version I had no problems but with version 4.9.5.0 for synology I have the problem that Emby is having problems. I just can't start any move at all. I have a synology 1821+ nas in raid 5. With the previous version I didn't have any problems but after the update the problems started. Hope someone have a solution. I send a log as attachment. embyserver.txt
Neminem 1741 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 @zhianjo I see this error in your logs. System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The configured user limit (8192) on the number of inotify watches has been reached, or the operating system failed to allocate a required resource. This should help you with your error. 1

I tried it with my username as owner and with root but both didn't work.

I installed the previous version of Emby 4.9.3.0 and that works fine. In version 4.9.5.0 I did what @Neminem suggested but that didn't work.

Were you logged on as an admin when doing the cat statements? You wouldn't be getting inotify errors if it didn't exist The instructions work so I'm trying to figure out what went wrong. BTW the inotify errors really only affect RTM. It isn't going to fix playback of movies. 1
zhianjo 0 Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 @FrostByte Thanks for the reply I appreciate the help. 1. Could you post what the task settings are? Look at the files below. 2. Are you still getting inotify errors in your log? I didn't get any inotify errors in my log as far as I can see. 3. Were you logged on as an admin when doing the cat statements? I am the administrator. 4. You wouldn't be getting inotify errors if it didn't exist. I think it's another issue because why does Emby 4.9.3.0 works fine (no errors-no delay) and with 4.9.5.0 it doesn't. With Emby 4.9.5.0 the movie start up screen comes up you can see all the settings but the movie doesn't start. In the middle of the screen you see the blue circle turning around and that's it. 22

However, if you are no longer getting inotify errors in the Emby server log then the script is working. Correct, as mentioned this only affects RTM. Has nothing to do with movie playback. 1
