MacOS Bug - resuming from sleep

Problem: When a laptop is shut while playing, playback successfully pauses. When the laptop is opened, playback successfully resumes. However, if the lid is closed for long enough for the laptop to become locked, playback resumes at the lock screen (audio only) upon opening the laptop.

Reproducing the problem: Play a video, close the lid, wait for lock screen, open the laptop.

Solution: Check if the user session is logged in before resuming playback.

Hi, what does Apple's TV app do you for you in this case?

I had never used the Apple TV app before now. I was able to test it - The Apple TV app pauses playback when the lid is closed. When it is opened again the playback is still paused. And if it is logged out, again it just remains paused until the use hits play.
