Max1127 1 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I had already tried Emby a few months ago, deciding to stick with Plex because the Emby iOS app lacks gapless playback. Now I'm thinking about Emby again. I didn't remember this problem. I'd like to ask again: Are there any plans to make the Emby iOS app gapless, or will it never happen? Also, why can't it be implemented on iOS? Thanks.
Luke 42593 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Hi, we do already have our embedded mpv player configured for gapless playback. We are passing it the weak option: https://mpv.io/manual/master/#options-gapless-audio

The note to the link you gave does say that gapless play can be unreliable. My experience on iOS devices is that I normally hear a glitch (but no more) at the changeover point. Paul

We are passing it the weak option: I don't know, in fact the solution doesn't work correctly, just try it with the album "The dark side of the moon" by Pink Floyd, it's clear that there are small interruptions in playback between one song and another, this doesn't happen with other players including Pleyamp or the Qobuz app. Thank you
