Locked out of Emby Server trying to fix remote access settings

I find myself completely locked out of my Emby server after trying to resolve issues with remote access. I've tried to even uninstall and reinstall the Emby app in my Synology Server to reset it back to factory settings (allowing me to reset it up), but that doesn't even work. I reinstall and I still get a "Forbidden" text response when trying to access it even on my local network. I'm so frustrated with fighting with the thing yesterday and today, I feel like scrapping it for Plex. Can you please help?

What setting exactly did you play with?

Dev's will need more info to help you.

Sorry for the lack of specificity in my original message. I'm trying to remember everything I touched without being able to see it. The problem started when we were trying to access the emby server remotely and were not able to bring up the server either using the WLAN IP nor through Synology QuickConnect. I tried to add the specific remote IP to the emby whitelist, but this did not fix it. I then tried to setup a Reverse Proxy, with a Synology DNS, ssl, etc... This is where things got complicated, because I also activated firewall settings in Synology with allowed IP rules, etc. I still had local access to emby at this point. I setup the reverse proxy in emby, but remote connections still failed. I further played with whitelist IP and further network settings in Emby and somehow I locked even my local connection out. I tried to back out, take down firewalls in Synology, etc... My last ditch effort was to uninstalled emby to try to get rid of settings and start fresh, but on reinstall the "forbidden" message reappears. Since terminal access into Synology is complicated to setup, I have no way of hunting down lingering setup files within Synonolgy for emby to try to delete them. I'm just not sure what to do at this point to restore the emby server even to local access.

Thanks for the suggested documentation links. The Tutorial: SSH into Synology NAS with Useful Examples really helped me figure out ssh and once I deleted the system.xml file, I was back up and running! I still need to figure out my remote access problem. It is only an issue with Emby because remote access to Synology apps doesn't seem to be an issue, no matter where you are.
