Hi,

Pretty much as the title states.

Server is up to date 4.9.5.0

Issue was the same with previous version but prior to that working fine.

Running latest Emby for Android 3.5.36

I have signed up for the Beta mentioned in another thread which forced an update (I have both versions of Emby installed and older version that is getting phased out is on version number 2.1.46g but haven't been using that one much at all)

Beta https://play.google.com/apps/testing/tv.emby.embyatv

The app is installed on my 2025 Sony Bravia 3 TV and everything is up to date

What is happening now when you select trailer which is beside the Play button on the movie main screen it briefly flashes up a grey Youtube screen and says sign in to confirm age (even on titles that are U like kids cartoons). Smarttube and Youtube are signed in on my TV as is Youtube on the PC where Emby is installed.

It is also doing this on the installed PC where all my media files are

It did work prior to one of the recent updates so thinking an update has broken something or Youtube has changed something again.

Any ideas or help please would be appreciated

Not asking for a sign in to verify age now but it is saying sign in to confirm not a bot.

This happened after changing a few TV settings and clearing cache etc.

Hi, are you using a vpn ?

No, nothing like that

Everything was fine until the last two updates

all working great outside of said trailers. It is pretty weird

Can you please show a screenshot or video example? Thanks.

Yeah no worries, short video showing what is happening - it does the same on the web browser on the PC that Emby is installed on.

it does the same thing on the older Emby app now on the TV but stays on the error screen until you click back (don’t really use this one anymore)

I am assuming one of the devs/team have been looking into the issue and tinkering as at the moment trailers are working again on both the older app and the new one on my TV.

Thanks :)

This is a Youtube server alert to protect against bots.  I believe having a VPN connectin can cause this alert.  I would guess that the VPN is the issue in this case.   Sometimes a VPN in the US or Canada might work, while an overseas VPN location is blocked.   Also, it could be that youtube account with a cookie saved for that browser or with the TV cache might be required to stop the alert.  This is a typical issue from Youtube and it can happen from time to time for different security reasons whenever youtube changes it's security setup for embedded videos.  The best fight against this would be to have your own trailer media copies added to a subdirectory trailers in each media directory.  Otherwise, you are at the mercy of whatever new security check is added to Youtube's network, often multiple times a year.

See: https://wpauthorbox.com/how-to-fix-youtube-sign-in-to-confirm-youre-not-a-bot/

from search: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=youtube+sign+in+to+confirm+you+are+not+a+bot&ia=web

You can request that Emby somehow manages all these security issues for all browsers and TV apps.  I am not sure that is even possible. Youtube may be demanding no VPN's or that a youtube membership be active in a cookie.  If that is true, there is no Emby code trick to get around that.

Youtube requires no VPN or account to combat bots screenshot alert.jpg

I've noticed this issue also lately.  I've tried 2 different Emby servers (stable and beta), using a route to a VPN and not, both are experiencing this issue. You can't play any trailer anymore :(

Not limited to FireTV but happens in Web, Android, you name it...

Thanks,

They aren’t working again at the moment.

I am guessing it has to be something to do with Youtube.
