Chapter images going missing?

I noticed the other day that chapter images are going missing, but only for media with chapter markers.  The first three images are there then the following are blank.

This is only true if there are markers.  System generated chapters continue to generate all chapter thumbs.

Hm, those don't appear to be missing/broken but it looks like a black frame at those timestamps - have you checked in the actual media that there isn't any at/around those times?

Pretty coincidental if it happens across any TV episodes I have checked.

This would be an amazing coincidence..... 

 

.....and it's consistent across two different servers with different content.

Yeah, if if happens on multiple media there's def something off there. 

If you delete those chapters and recreate on 5-minute intervals, does the same happen? Getting blanks or proper thumbs shown?

I think the only way to fix it is likely to create a new library with the same files,  make sure it populates meta properly, then delete the original library.

Chapter markers for TV are likely to be at commercial breaks, and thus likely to be on a black screen.

In the 1960's there were two commercial breaks in a 1/2 hour show...and no one would put a chapter marker before a blank space......ever. 

Since the library spans two volumes, I removed, then restored one volume. It is rebuilding now with chapter markers. 

Seems a bit of a severe fix, having to rebuild the library information for thousands of episodes.

I will apologize, you were both correct. There is a a reason why and a change of settings that will restore most of these to pictures that is unexpected.

So why are the chapter images for the first post and the last different?  All that changed was to go from 0 seconds to -10 seconds for the chapter images in the first post and the last. 

It's pretty obvious the timestamp for chapter 2 changed.....

Whatever the explanation is, it has nothing to do with that option. The detail screen display of chapters is not looking at that.
