I've just joined Emby, set up a secure server and Emby Connect.  My goal is to use Alexa to play music.  I'm sure everthing is set up correctly and I continue to get a message stating that playing Emby music on Alexa is not supported. I'm concerned there is a gap now because I've moved to Alexa Plus.  Are there plans to close this gap?

Hi. What is the exact message?

Playing music from provider M.B. is not supported.  However, after launching specifically by asking Alexa to launch emby, I'm able to play some songs.  It's very very specific.  Is there a better way to get Alexa + to handle emby voice commands?

Now, after some more playing around, if i ask Alexa to "Open Emby", first.  Then after Emby say's hello, I can get it to play music.  Still seems more complicated than it should be.

@KKDMusic Ear Wax is coming to beta testers shortly. I need to get it through the Amazon validation/release process.

When the beta is available, you should try the beta. The one issue that was bothersome to me, was the single sentence command functionality. It has now been resolved. I am in the process of preparing a users guide.

Regards,

Marvin

Forgive the naive nature here, but is Ear Wax something different that works with Emby or part of Emby itself?

ear wax is something different that works with Emby and btw also works with Plex. It allows you to walk up to your Alexa enabled speaker, speak a single sentence command and play your emby based music.  If you give me your email addy, I will send you the setup guide and put you into the beta release group. You will able to try it out, if you dont like it, disable it and move on.. No worries.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, what would you prefer?

I'd prefer to use similar prompts as I do with other Alexa + commands.  I shouldn't have to open the skill first then provide a command.
