Does Emby Premiere make any difference to the way Subtitles Work

I am Not an Emby Premiere user, just a standard user.

I have emby server installed on my windows 11 pc.

My smart tv is connected by cat5 to my pc.

And it works.

But i am having trouble getting subtitles to work.

I have installed the opensubtitles plugin.

Some of my movies have srt files with them and they work as to be expected.

Some of my movies that don't have subs work ( subs working ).

Some of my movies that don't have subs do not work ( subs not working ).

My movies consist of avi, mkv, mp4 and a few others.

When I go to play a movie and if it hasn't got subs, Emby pops up and recommends I search.

But you have to pay for the premium upgrade to be able to search.????.

Is there something missing that I haven't done?

It looks like I either have to upgrade to Premiere or the problem is somewhere with either OpenSubtitles or Emby.????.

Any help would be appreciated

Downloading subs during playback is a Premiere feature but you can provide subtitles on your own and they should work fine.
