I have one specific show (Mr. Iglesias) that won't play. When I try to play it shows an error message of Playback Error - No playable items were found. Are you trying to play an empty folder? See attached image.  Additionally, the Played checkmark is green and cannot be marked as unplayed.  Doing so, shows the following in the embyserver.txt log error.

I've attached the log file as well.  Other movies and TV shows seem to add and play just fine.

How are your files named and organized? Emby doesn't recognize any episodes for that show (you can also see that there are no episodes/seasons listed on the TV show detail screen, you get Cast row right below the poster) hence you can't mark it Unplayed as there's nothing to Play and no episodes have been parsed in your log.

MG,

You did not follow the naming guide.  Your file names could be causing the problem.  I have noticed that more than one dash - in a name causes errors.  I have not tested it completely.  You use three dashes.  The guide only has one. Also, splitting the Season and Episode with a dash can be causing your issue.  Of course, since you mentioned one median did not play, then perhaps it has data errors.  DId you run it through a media test.  Opening a media file in another third party player does not prove the file is correct.  Many players like VLC will auto correct.  You have to check the media file.

Also none of those episodes files have a file extension, therefore enby will ignore them.

Are these actually video files? if so they will need to be remained with the proper file extension then re-scanned.

(you can use file, ffprobe, mediainfo, or VLC to find the proper extension if they are indeed video files.)(if it says 'matroska' the use mkv

Thank you. I renamed the files accordingly, (took out the dashes) and it didn't seem to help...

-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 432M May 10 17:16 'Mr. Iglesias S01E01 Some Children Left Behind'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 426M May 10 17:19 'Mr. Iglesias S01E02 Summer School'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 415M May 10 17:22 'Mr. Iglesias S01E03 Full Hearts Clear Backpacks'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 456M May 10 17:25 'Mr. Iglesias S01E04 The Wagon'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 415M May 10 17:28 'Mr. Iglesias S01E05 Everybody Hates Gabe'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 404M May 10 17:31 'Mr. Iglesias S01E06 Bullying'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 375M May 10 17:34 'Mr. Iglesias S01E07 Talent Show'
-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 404M May 10 17:55 'Mr. Iglesias S01E08 Teachers Strike'

-rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 457M May 10 18:00 'Mr. Iglesias S01E10 Academic Decathlon'

I also renamed the directory to include the year.

Thanks.

You know, I'll bet that's it...  I didn't even notice that.  Going to add the extension now, will report back here if that was successful.

Thank you @TMCsw(and everyone else). The missing extensions was the problem. I have been staring at this for a few days and cannot believe I didn't see it earlier...
