Mkilbride 87 Posted May 15 Posted May 15 My server is still accessible though, but I can't access it on Windows. To top it off, a lot of my metadata seems to randomly have been changed or missing. Never had this happen before and the Windows install is fine, what's going on?
RanmaCanada 543 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Did you have a password on your network shares? Newest update for 11 caused me to have to put user accounts with passwords on my UNRAID server for shares.
Mkilbride 87 Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 (edited) I can't edit my post for some reason, but I managed to restore from backup and all my metadata is messed up still. It's re-downloading it all for some reason...and a lot are mismatched. What the hell happened? This is a massive headache. All my movies, anime, metadata just got replaced and it's so freaking wrong, all of it, this is dozens of hours of fixing! What the hell. Edited May 16 by Mkilbride
Luke 42528 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Quote but I can't access it on Windows Hi, what exactly happened when you tried?
Mkilbride 87 Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 It asked me to setup a new server. So I finally gave in and did, it just opened my server normally. Then I attempted to restore from backup, a 2 day old backup before this, and my metadata reset for everything. Christ I need to sleep. Ruined my day for sure. No idea why this happened and why Emby still sucks ass at scraping metadata while I can open Plex and instantly it gets 99% correct versus Emby's 70%.
visproduction 361 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) Please list exactly which update, by number. Related? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/resolved-issues-windows-11-25h2?source=recommendations Quote Following installation of Windows updates releases on or after September 29, server-side applications that rely on HTTP.sys may experience issues with incoming connections. As a result, IIS websites might fail to load, displaying a message such as "Connection reset - error (ERR_CONNECTION_RESET)", or similar error. This includes websites hosted on http://localhost/, and other IIS connections. I don't see a solution listed. Maybe someone who knows more about MIcrosoft site can find a recommended fix, if Windows-11-25h2 is the update that caused the problem. Edited May 16 by visproduction
NeverExists 25 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Same here, only I can't access my library at all after the Windows update
nospotify 194 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 FWIW I had the exact same problem a few months ago with an earlier Windows update and had to reinstall my entire server and go back to a backup. No, I don't have any logs or any track record to share. I'm just posting here as a data point that this has happened to others after a Windows 11 update.
Luke 42528 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hi, maybe the server is running under a different windows user somehow? That would cause the application data folder to be in a different place which could explain this.
Radtech81951 1 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I've had a similar issue where no one including myself can connect to my server remotely. Only inside my home network. It shows the previous server, but won't allow a connection even though the WAN IP is the same. No VPN running and I turned of my firewall, but still no connection.
Mkilbride 87 Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 Yeah I never managed to fix it so I'm just slowly rebuilding meta data for hundreds and hundreds of file as my own pace. It's annoying, but restoring from backup didn't fix it so... 1
