myjunkmalebox 8 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I've got a Chromecast with Android TV os V14. It has the Emby App V2.1.23g installed. Occasionally I'll try to open the app and I just get a black screen. Going home and opening again doesn't not clear it, other apps work just fine. I have to go into settings and force stop the app, then it'll open and operate normally. I use the app daily and this happens like every 2 or 3 weeks. Un-related, I used to be able to do 'shuffle all' on a play list from the play list selection screen directly by long pressing the 'ok' button. The sub menu no longer comes up, so I have to go into the play list and wait for it to load before I can shuffle all. I pretty much exclusively use shuffle all on play lists, this stopped working a good while ago.
FrostByte 5479 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Have you thought about installing the beta and giving that a shot? Version .23 is kind of old and the latest version is 2.1.46. Anyhow, there is a problem with updating the AndroidTV app in the store right now so the only way to get updates is to sideload or join the beta until they resolve that. There's also the new standard Android app which is being updated in the store and listed as just "Emby" which you can try. Both "Emby" and "Emby for AndroidTV" can be installed at the same time.
ebr 16430 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Hi. Try setting the "auto logout" in the app to one or two hours and see if that helps.

I'll see if I can find them and try this, thank you. 1 hour ago, ebr said: Hi. Try setting the "auto logout" in the app to one or two hours and see if that helps. I'm assuming that means I'd have to put in my password every time I go to use Emby right? I'd rather have the annoyance I currently have, ty for the suggestion tho.

myjunkmalebox 8 Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 I went to turn on the auto log off thing, and turns out it was already on and set to 1hr.
ebr 16430 Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Hmmm. That's surprising. Exactly how do you stop a viewing session? Are you turning off the TV with a stream actually playing? Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
