[Feature/Bug] Issues with Additional Parts Number Recognition and Poster Display

Hello, and thank you to the Emby team for your continued development and support.

I would like to report two issues related to “Additional Parts” that started appearing since version 4.8. These features worked correctly in version 4.7.14.0. Please see the comparison images below.

  • Additional Parts beyond CD9 are not merged correctly
In recent versions, when a movie contains more than nine additional parts (for example CD10, CD11, etc.), Emby no longer recognizes and merges them correctly.
At the moment, it seems that only up to CD9 is handled properly, while parts beyond that are treated as separate videos. I hope support for double-digit part numbering can be restored or improved.
  • Poster frame size does not match Additional Parts poster dimensions
The poster display frame used for Additional Parts appears to have a fixed aspect ratio and does not properly adapt to the actual poster image dimensions.
As a result, some posters display with empty padding/blank space, which affects the overall UI appearance. It would be great if the poster frame could adapt to the image dimensions, or at least follow the same aspect ratio behavior as the main media posters.

These features worked correctly in version 4.7.14.0, but issues appeared after 4.8. Please refer to the comparison images below.

Thank you!

That is also reflected in the documentation.

Split video files (file stacking)

The following are default stacking extensions that can be added to file names. # can be 1 through 9 or A through D. Stacking is supported for video files (but only when each video is in its own folder as in the example below) as well as dvd and blu-ray folder structures. Split videos require all parts be in the same movie folder with no other videos present in that folder.

Movie Naming | Emby Documentation

Thank you for the clarification. I noticed that the current documentation indeed specifies stacking support only for numbering schemes using 1–9 or A–D.

However, I would still like to suggest adding support for double-digit numbering (such as CD10, CD11, etc.) for Additional Parts / file stacking in future versions.
For some longer content, concert collections, special editions, or older multi-disc releases, having more than 9 parts is still a real use case. Supporting double-digit numbering would make the naming logic more complete and reduce the need for manual organization.

Also, the poster display issue for Additional Parts still seems to exist.
Some posters show noticeable empty padding/blank space, so I hope the poster rendering logic can also be improved in future updates to better match the actual image aspect ratio.

Thank you again for your work and consideration.
