hi the guide says iptv provider via mu3 is possible but then nothing is explained. only hardware solutions via tuner. not helpful. is there another guide or forum you could recommend? my starting point is zero. I'm in Germany and want to see rtl+ to watch Freiburg winning the uefa league 😁 that's not a paytv channel but as I don't watch TV I don't have a cable box..

I cannot even find a working iptv provider. treaTV should work with emby? but what do I want with 45k channels ot seems impossible to find out the included ones. do I need to run my emby server on my nas with an vpn via Canada to use it. can someone recommend an iptv provider for Europe? I would really need some info's.. thanks

Kindly edit your post and change Topic title as it is absolutely useless in current form. Thanks.

I've edited the title, so hopefully others in your area will chime in.

don't remember my title.

the idea was you update your help section!

it's called how to guide, you claim to explain iptv, and then there's not one single word about it.

is this a grey zone or what is this whole mystery about?

of course I want only a legal source for channels. I didn't even know that there are other.

so maybe you strike out iptv from your table of content in the set up guide or you write some words about it

Are you really that naive? In Germany no legal IPTV provider exists that give you a m3u file! If you want RTL+ subscripe to their service and use their dedicated their app.

thanks very friendly help. I'm not naive I just done have a clue about television. I bet I know a trillion things you don't let's hope you never need help in your life.

and it's not my fault that the support page sucks. it should explain things, at least the ones that are listed  in the table of content

HI.  We are not aiming to explain IPTV.  We are a personal media server for managing content.  Where that content comes from is completely up to you.  We support the standard M3U format for bringing in "channels" of media streams.  So - any entity publishing a list of accessible channels in this format can be integrated with your Emby installation.  It is as simple as the instructions suggest - you just plug in the M3U.  Pretty much the same way you just point any of your libraries to a folder in your system and we interpret the media that is there.

How you curate your media is beyond the scope of our system and this forum is not the best place to figure out how to do that but there are a ton of others that are.

Thanks.

but you see your 'overview of setup' guide here stating to explain iptv and then only explaining tv tuner. that's all I said. explain iptv or delete it from the setup guide.

and yes, I now see and understand that there are surely better place to get explanations about an emby functionality you are promoting somehow. but you still haven't named one. I can of course ask at reddit or so but I thought there should be an how to iptv guide for emby somewhere already

Yes, nearly everyone in Germany is paying for "Die öffentlich Rechtlichen" but they aren't a classic IPTV provider like Zattoo or Waipu. And although you don't need any authentication to watch their web streams, they do not provide any m3u file! Other people have created playlists with web streams of ARD, ZDF and so on.

thanks. yes I know nearly everyone is paying and that they don't provide an m3u, whatever that is. these are the channels I wouldn't need. I'm fact I only want to watch the soccer euro league tonight, and hopefully the final 😁 so 1 month would be sufficient..

I googled iptv m3u for emby before I posted here. and the general recommendation from the edge Ai was that treaTV - from Canada.

it's with paying, not really cheap, so I never thought I could be illigal?? and after that search I came here to find a setup guide. I wanted to pay a month.. but no guide here, besides the fact that the functionality is promoted in listed here.

I posted some questions like does treatv work with emby.. the answers were without value. I'm not smarter than before and now I travel to my other apartment in Switzerland the game is there on free TV like in Germany, but there I can watch it with an app I don't need a sat receiver or cable box or iptv ... over and out, no iptv for me
