Metadata location: Music

I have saving local metadata files on, and the .nfo files populate for artists and albums correctly into their local folders.  placing art in either the artist folder or album folder using proper naming conventions works great.

I am experimenting with several custom albums that are basically mix tapes, songs from different albums, sleep sounds like thunderstorms, ect.  I've got the metadata and naming conventions all worked out, with one single exception.  the art at a track by track level.  I have embedded images into the file tags myself, and they show correctly when viewing local files as thumbnail in windows explorer.

when loading files onto server, emby does not display the embedded images in each track, nor does it use the album art for the track art.   it will choose, seemingly at random, one of the embedded images from one of the songs, and apply that image in a lower quality to all songs.

I can go in and edit the metadata of each individual track through emby using the edit images, and that will generally work, however if I do a refresh metadata on the library (which I do often getting everything right for newly added content), the track level images wipe back to the bad quality random track image.  I went looking for the .nfo files that contain the metadata for the tracks themselves so I can just add folder to project in my sublime editor for easy editing, but the only .nfo files I can see are only for artist and album, and the album .nfo doesn't contain track level information.  I went into the AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\ folder, but that metadata folder in there was all just images.  I didn't see any .nfo files to edit, and the folders are in database format so they are just random numbers and letters and not searchable.  Using the metadata manager in the server dashboard doesn't edit images as an option.

What is the file path to the .nfo files containing the track level information?
