AWG97 4 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) Here is my use case: I download media to my internal storage (path: `Downloads/emby_downloads/`) to watch via VLC when I’m offline. However, when the media has an external subtitle file (downloaded via Opensubtitles through Emby for example), it doesn't appear in the download location. I expected Emby to either embed the subtitles or save the `.srt` file alongside the media file. Interestingly, the subtitles do work when playing offline through the Emby app itself, so the subtitle file is clearly being downloaded - just apparently not to my specified download folder. Am I missing something here? Edited May 4 by AWG97 Markdown edits+
Neminem 1729 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Is this enabled in your media libraries ? Does Emby have write permissions to you media files.

Luke 42505 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
AWG97 4 Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 Problem: Emby Android app not downloading the external subtitle (.srt file) to the download location Steps to reproduce: - Download location is set to System storage (Downloads) - I have the .srt subtitle file downloaded alongside the episode in the file system -rw-rw-r-- 1 abc abc 50886 May 4 16:06 'Person of Interest (2011) - S05E12 - exe [Bluray-720p][AAC 2.0][x265].en.srt' -rw-rw-r-- 1 abc abc 233157009 Apr 29 15:03 'Person of Interest (2011) - S05E12 - exe [Bluray-720p][AAC 2.0][x265].mkv' - Downloaded the episode with quality set to Original + subtitle is selected - Only the .mkv file was downloaded to the Downloads folder (the subtitle is not embedded into the file either) - Anonymized Emby server & app logs embyserver.txt emby_android_1778027019772.txt
Luke 42505 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 OK I think currently the subtitle downloads always get saved to the app's private data folder. This is why it works in the Emby app. We'll have to revisit why we did that. Thanks. 1
