meowmix 1 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hi all, I'm struggling with local streaming Blu Ray remux files (typcially 20GB+). The files start streaming and then start to buffer within a few minutes. This happens regardless of whether I am streaming to a TV / laptop. My Emby Server is running on my Synology NAS within Container manager. I am only streaming via a wired LAN. I am trying to rule out my Emby / Synology before I start looking into my router / switches etc. I definetly want to turn transcoding off - as I dont wan't to bog my Synology down with it. So I have: 1 Gone to Settings - Emby Server - Transcoding - Enable Hardware acceloration when available: NO 2 Gone to Settings - Emby Server - Users - Username Playback - Allow audio transcoding...: NO Playback - Allow video transcoding...: NO Is there anything else I need to do to ensure my Synology is not trying to transcode media? Thank you!

Thank you! Check SFN in the client, it will tell you if anything is transcoding. If you have transcoding turned off at the server though it shouldn't be. Might want to supply a log for the devs to look at.
meowmix 1 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Thanks Frostbyte, I used that and now have got everything on "Direct Play" and all is well.
