Chrislparks7 2 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I know this thread is kind of dead but I do wonder if there is still an interest in this feature via a plug-in. Because I've been working pretty hard on something but don't want to put the work into trying to get it out unless there is actual interest in it. Let me know any thoughts. 1

Hi, this thread is not dead. Your screenshot looks nice.

I made this because I know I was interested in it at the very least. As a MVP it's has a surprising amount of features. If anyone would like screenshots of other features I'd be happy to post them.

It looks very nice but i guess as with most other plugins that changes the UI that it only works in the webclient?

I'm also pretty much counting on this to be true as well. I'd also really like some rating/comment/review system within Emby to let users interact with eachother. This and a notification system and I'd be golden.

Yes unfortunately. Since this is built using JS injection, there's no support for non-webclients. I'd love to be able to port it to the native Emby clients but that's not a possibility from my plug-in at this time.
Chrislparks7 2 Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 @LukeSince this plug-in does require JS injection at the movie detail level, I need to get it's UUID whitelisted on Emby's side. At the very least in the beta version. How would I request for this to be done or who can I contact about updating that?

I think we need to first learn how it does what it does before we will do that.

ebr 16421 Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I'm not sure we can officially allow this. The security risk potential just seems too high...
visproduction 353 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I've added this review service for clients. It is interesting to look at their page review to see what features and security are available. Blocking any links from appearing would seem to be a good step to fight scams and viruses. https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme

For the actual comment contents, I have an automated moderation worker that checks submitted comments before they are made available, with the goal of keeping comments respectful, safe, and relevant to the media item. I completely understand the concern here. Since this is community-generated content that can appear across servers, I know the security and moderation expectations need to be higher than a normal local-only plugin. I am open to feedback on what specific security requirements would need to be met for this to be considered acceptable. If the concern is links, scripting, injected content, private server data, moderation liability, or abuse/spam at scale, I can document the protections around each of those. 1
