RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I am setting up my libraries, hosting the Emby server from a Raspberry Pi. I will mostly use the genre and tag sorting, and on my Roku, both are showing good under the sections Movies and Television. But I have also have a library with mixed content. I can see on my Roku perfect the things that are in this library, but when I want to show them by genre or tag, it says there is nothing to show.. When I open Emby through my browser, it also shows perfect, and both tags and genres can be viewed perfect without this error message. Is this an issue on the Roku?
speechles 2083 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Hi. That isn't suppposed to happen. Can you show us a screenshot of what you mean? Is would help show us if this occurs when using tabs or buttons. We will then get that fixed. Thanks. 1
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 Here are the screenshots from my browser. As seen, I can see both the genre sorting and the tag. The last picture is from my Roku, where 'tag' isnt even seen, and where genre shows up completely empty. @ebr : I don't see any option for filters in the menu
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 I have 3 things inside those genres. One anime, one dutch TV show and one documentary. All 3 shown perfect, except on the Roku. I can see them on the roku as well, but only under the tabs "shows" and "folders"
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 How the files/shows are added: Anime Show ( added to the 'Anime' genre / given the 'test' tag ) Dutch Show ( added to the 'Dutch' genre / given the 'test' tag ) Documentary Mix ( added to the 'Documentary' genre / given the 'test' tag ) On my browser: Mixed Content Shows - Genres - Tags - Folders (both genres and tags are showing the right items) On my rokus (I tried on 2 different ones): Mixed Content Shows - Genres - Folders (the content is not shown in 'genres' and also there is no tags visible in the top menu)
speechles 2083 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) On the Shows tab, when you enter one of the items, you will be presented with a details view. When you scroll down into that item does it show a row (horizontal list) of tags you can selected from? Or is it missing from the details view too? Edited April 21 by speechles
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 I did this both on my Roku and browser, and both showing the tags under the detailed view of the show. On the Roku, selecting this tag, leads to the tag page. But still, in the menu on top, there is no tag option, and the genres menu keeps saying there are no items to show... Thanks for both your help so far, much appreciated! 1
speechles 2083 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Okay, then the defect is on the presentation of the tabs. That helps knowing this. We can look into the difference there and fix it. Just FYI too, I cannot replicate. All my mixed media displays correctly and both tabs/genres work as expected. But we can definitely compare how the web app and the Roku are fetching those items and spot the difference. Edited April 21 by speechles
speechles 2083 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) On comparing the two I think I found the problem. It would only be a problem with anything not Movies. I see exactly why your shows were not showing up. We can also add "tags" to the mixed type view tabs if the web app is showing this there. These were just missed in the initial testing and by users up until now. Thank you for helping make Emby better. Thank you for finding bugs and reporting them to us. Edited April 21 by speechles
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 It's great that you have found the issue! Thank you very much. Will this mean it can be fixed? Or will I have to look for other options for my library?

Or will I have to look for other options for my library? We will add the missing tab "Tags" to the mixed view and also correct the genres and tags to properly load items. The Roku will match the web app. Once the fix is published it should not take very long for this to pass through testing and into a Roku store release. Edited April 21 by speechles
RKTWX 2 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 I'm very happy it has been found and resolved! Thank you so much for your help. I will wait a few days to continue setting up the library. Is something like this, to be fixed in a matter of days? Or more like weeks?

It should get pushed to Beta testers tonight or early tomorrow. Then the next release cycle it will update on your Roku.

RKTWX 2 Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 Thank you both so much! I just checked Emby on Roku, and it looks like it's working perfect now. 1
