trvnrc 1 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 My idea is this: - there is my emby server called 'A' - then a second well known server (for example in my brother's home) called 'B' - I want to read the titles in the libraries of server 'B' and select one, then select the destination library in my server and schedule the transfer between, for example, 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM. In case the transfer is not completed, it will continue next day and so on. The two servers have to be autenthicated each other in some way. We can think of a private club. Is it possible (from legal and technical point of view) to implement this feature?
Luke 42414 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Hi, it's doable, but it sounds like more of a job for file transfer software. 1
Luke 42414 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Actually I think think of a way using the combination of folder sync plugin and auto-organize. On the source server install the folder sync plugin and setup a shared folder that both servers can access. There are different ways to mount a remote folder to a local drive depending on your operating system. So can send things to folder sync. Once they get there, then on the target server you can install auto-organize and point it to that shared folder, and it can then move the files into a more permanent place. So this requires stitching a few things together but it should work.
trvnrc 1 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 (edited) Ok, probably it will work. But there are various steps. Let's say on the other side there is my girlfriend that knows a lot of fashion but a little of informatic and has to manually copy files (working on the file system of a headless server that I gave her) to a shared folder etc etc... It would be great if implemented inside the interface of the client. Like the 'download' feature that copies the media from the personal server to the client. Imagine you have a button on your client (connected to server 'A') to request the 'catalogue' of media on the trusted server 'B', select some titles (and the destination library on 'A') and wait for the scheduled task to be done.
