Nelcruz 3 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Hi, quick question. Can you please explain what I am doing wrong? For example, say I have two movies Carrie (1976) and Carrie (2013). When updating library, it will always populate both movie folders with nfo, jpg and png files for Carrie (1976). This happens consistently. Another example would be Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018). Thank you for your time. Library is set to use TMDB.

Emby has always done a fantastic job of identifying media, but when it needs help with old and/or obscure content the "IDs" really, really help. I use Filebot to make naming a fast and painless process. 1

But not sure if I missed something as the queries get mixed up in log but don't see version 424139 in the log at all. And uses the 1978 imdbid on TVDB. The minimum required information is already available for cases like Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018). I'm personally inclined to bend towards a situation where Emby straight up refuses an identification if the years do no match when only a single match is found. In all other cases where multiple matches are found, only the match where the year matches should be used. I've also had some of these wacky identification going wrong, Blade Runner is also a banger where Emby almost always has it wrong and keeping structure in mind, I'd rather not pollute it with arbitrary [tmdbid] tags of which we have no clue if they'll stay relevant over the years. MusicBrainz has also been annoying to use exactly because of "hard identifications" used in music, since they sometimes also change id's, leaving media identified by other to result in having completely different artists or albums.
