SmplyUnprdctble 6 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I've noticed something odd. When watching Live TV on my Roku TVs, and the next show comes on, the Show Title changes to the correct info, but the episode info (episode title, length, etc) isn't updating. (I initially thought it was doing odd schedule drift from buffering until I finally had a chance to pay attention to it). The easiest way for me to "show" what's happening is the image attached. When I tuned to the channel, "I Love Lucy" was with the episode "The Passports" At the top of the hour, the show changed to "Leave It to Beaver", but the episode information remained from "The Passports". In another half hour, it will still stick on the episode "The Passports". I do not know what happens with movies that are aired, if that even matters. I've noticed this from both HDHomeRun and custom .m3u channels. I had thought it was a problem with my .m3u channels at first, but have reproduced it on HDHomeRun channels. I did a test with the Emby web interface, and that seems to work fine there. So, I think it's limited to at least the Roku app. Obviously, it's not a huge deal. Just an inconvenience when I'm watching something and am curious as to which episode is on or when I'm trying to see how much time is left on the episode. Roku App version: 4.1.54 Emby Server version: 4.9.3.0 If you need a test stream, I can DM a developer a link to an M3U stream of Schoolhouse Rock, since they're quick "episodes". 1
ebr 16410 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Hi. Can you reproduce this on every single show change, or just some of them? I'm guessing this may only happen when the second show has none of that extra detail in the guide. In any case, we'll take a look. Thanks.
SmplyUnprdctble 6 Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 It appears to be every show. I initially saw it with .m3u channels (self-hosted ErsatzTV), but all of those have guide data, since it's pulling from my Emby library metadata. These .m3u channels are marathons of all the episodes of a TV show, so Show Title is coincidentally the same. I can create a .m3u channel that moves between shows, if you feel that's important enough to test. I confirmed it's happening with OTA channels via HDHomeRun before posting this. Guide data is fully populated in these, as well. That is where I discovered the Show Title appears to change in the on screen display, but the episode title, episode description, and length aren't changing. Thanks for looking into this!

My Roku devices have updated to 4.1.63. Good news: The countdown timer has adjusted to the new episode. Bad news: The episode title / description are blank on the following episode. (This is really what prompted my thread). Show title updates (which it did before). Better. But, not perfect. I can re-tune to the channel to get the updated title / description, but effort (Screenshots attached are from HDHomeRun channels, same happens with m3u channels... my m3u channels are just the same series, so more difficult to verify if the show title updated)
