Tags not Hiding Actors

I was just playing around with the tags and the parental controls feature.

If a custom tag is applied to an actor, and then that tag is set to be blocked for a certain user they are still able to search for and view that given actor.

Is there a way to have this not happen and for actors to be completely hidden?

How would that work then as media is linked to Actors so the content would be hidden also?

Yes, that is the reason I realised this in the first place.

On a child's profile they are still able to search up Actors for any media on the whole server.
So I do actually want the actor and the content hidden

I'd say that's a bug that was simply overlooked - just like the dozens of other bugs in the parental controls that were introduced with the major database update in Emby 4.8 but have since been fixed. I still have a working 4.8.0.13 install where people with restricted Tags are hidden from search!

I just haven't updated it yet because of the constant new bug reports and some changes that i do not really like.

But when you visit the movie details you can still see the person.

I don't mind seeing actors when the media is also visible.

I just don't want Actors to be visible via the search bar when the content they are in is blocked via parental restrictions.

Example put a block tag on Merry Madagascar

Actor is still available/searchable but with no content.

Only tested beta.

Exact same issue I have encountered.

Also note as stated above that a block tag directly on the actor does not change the outcome

The problem is that when you're searching the entire database, to evaluate every single condition can cause search to perform slowly. That is why as a compromise, search is only looking at main library access with respect to people.
