Liami10 1 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Hello, I have a problem with my Emby Server. I installed it on my old Android device and everything worked fine. On my current mobile and on my PC I can connect without Problems using the Android client app or typing in the IP in the Browser. I can watch my shows and movies without any problems. Now I wanted to also be able to watch them on my fireTV. I firstly installed the Emby for FireTV App and connected the server manually by entering the IP. It worked fine except for some transcoding issues but that is a different topic. When I shut off the TV an turned it back on about an hour later, the server is still listet but when I click on it it says it is not able to connect at the moment and it can wake it but hitting the wake button doesn't do anything. I also tried installing the other Emby App on the FireTV store and connecting manually but no luck. It still works fine on Phone And Windows and I don't know what has changed since the first successful attempt. Thank you all for responding in advance Edited 11 hours ago by Liami10
Neminem 1619 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Did you install the server on your own hardware?
Liami10 1 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Yes I did, I had an old Samsung Galaxy a21s lying around and I decided to use it as a media server.
Liami10 1 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago What exactly do you mean by "how to". All I did was download the host APK from the website, install it to my device and add media through the browser. I'm sorry if I forgot any steps, I a newbie here . However I didn't find any instructions
Neminem 1619 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Thats ok Welcome Quick Start Connecting from Client Apps
Liami10 1 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Thanks But I believe I have followed all of those steps and as I said it works perfectly fine on all of my other devices except for my Fire Stick.
ebr 16330 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago You may need to check your router for security settings. We have had instances in the past where routers or other security software have blocked communications from devices like a Fire TV to other devices on your local network.
Liami10 1 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago How exactly would I do that, I need to log into my router settings, but what am I looking for once I logged in?

Neminem 1619 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Hmm is you router also you mobil device? Shared via hotspot?
Liami10 1 Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago I have a separate router to which the hosting phone and the firestick are connected, if you mean that
Neminem 1619 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Is the firestick connected to the same wifi ssid as all the rest?
Solution Liami10 1 Posted 7 hours ago Author Solution Posted 7 hours ago Hello again, so I managed to fix my issue . I knew it was something really stupid. I had to turn off battery optimization for the server app on the host so that it can run in the background. Anyways thanks anyway for everyone helping and have a nice Easter
justinrh 264 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Server on an Android tablet - I never would have thought it! I wonder how well that sucker transcodes
Liami10 1 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I was unsure as well but it seems to work just fine, even with two streams running parallel 1
