madblam 4 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Hi Would it be possible to have filters preference on the user profile? It seems to be in a cookie at the moment. I often change computers and clear cookies and it's annoying to always setup my filter preferences. Thanks 1
Neminem 1639 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Are you dropping you laptop in the river Don't do that But where should that be stored if not there

Working on several computers, some with clear cookies on exit forced by company policies...
Luke 42317 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Hi, the main reason we don't do this is that people move from one device from the next and then don't realize what they're looking at when the sort and filter options from another device are applied. At least that's the reaction we got to it in the past. 1
madblam 4 Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Oh Interesting! Would you be open to try it again in a Beta?
brothom 211 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 While I understand the current implementation, I'd also like to see better continuity across all Emby platforms, regardless of whichever version, app or browser is being used. 1

I find that use think the filter resets it self when done and then weird me asking why they can't find the video they are looking for That's when they can even find the filter option. My users are not the brightest sometimes but emby could use a bit of user friendliness update, like text on some buttons instead of icons. Just my opinion. 1
visproduction 339 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Using any filter, I believe still results in the filter button getting a highlight color. I think this can easily be missed. Perhaps there could be a warning alert text "Filtered results", or an overlay colored box that appears on top of the library title to remind the user that some filter is on. This type of UI alert doesn't happen anywhere else, so it is not consistent with the look of the site. There have been other forum posts and a current one, where filters cause "missing" media. I've run into it myself and I know to watch for filter settings. I think keeping filters on for the next login is correct and makes sense. An extra visible notice, might be nice.

If you were filtering movies on netflix to view movies from a certain year, then opened the netflix app on your tv and were only seeing movies from 1963, would you make the correlation that it's because of what you did on your phone?
