HELP! Library sorting drama!

I am rather new to Emby and Im doing my best to find my way before asking for help but at this point Im at a loss.  This is probably a seemingly trivial thing to most I imagine but in my library I like to be able to sort my MOVIES by RECENTLY ADDED (translation: those most recently uploaded to the library).  Im not so lazy as to not realize that sorting by "Date Added" is already a default option, as is "Release date", the problem Im encountering is that the results of each ARE THE SAME (see pics) and I dont know how to fix.  I do have Date Added behavior set to "date scanned into library" but I dont know if maybe Time Lord is screwing it up so it wont even sort by added in the library.   Thoughts, suggestions?   Thanks in advance!

It is. Why did you install it in the first place (as it is not one of the default plugins that come with the vanilla server), what were you hoping to achieve?

I would provide logs were this a software error issue, really Im just looking for someone that might know more than be about how I probably set something up incorrectly. I dont think Emby is malfunctioning just maybe conflicting settings or one thing taking precedence over another.

Time Lord had a trigger to do this action every morning....I have since removed it. I still wouldnt think that would override the librarys ability to sort by date added entirely but maybe Im wrong

Time Lord

This it what this plugin does, it replaces you date added with release date.

Old movies will still be set to what TimeLord set it to.

Hey Grim, thanks for the quick reply. I was aided in building my library/emby by family that has been doing Emby FOREVER. Perhaps it was how he prefers his library but until now I was too inexperienced to know I DIDNT want it doing that.

So, moving forward, since I removed the Time Lord trigger, all NEWLY ADDED movies SHOULD present at the top when sorted, correct?

Yes. But changes already made are irreversible (unless all those items removed and re-added).

Ok, Im cool with all that. Whats done is done I suppose.

Last question, and please know Im extremely grateful for the help.... If Radarr finds a better version OF THE SAME MOVIE already in Emby, is Emby able to realize that its not a "new" uploaded movie, just a revision, as it pertains to my library sort?

No. Emby is currently not aware of the concept of "updated" item - it's either existing item or a new item. You can always save NFOs with media (and rename it accordingly upon "updated" movie file moved to relevant movie folder), so all metadata (including original Date Added which'll be honored ) will be preserved.

Oooookay, Im betting that's probably why TL was part of the equation. I follow, yeah I think I may stick to your route since MOST of my library is as good as its gonna get by now, I dont expect the updated files will be terribly frequent.

Thank you both!
