I'll post this here in case it's a server side fix rather than in a client thread, admins please move it where it ultimately belongs. Synology DSM 7.1.1 Emby Server 4.8.11

Issue is over the years and several iPads I've built up lots of 'download to' entries in the dropdown box for my iPad. I was trying to download something that just wouldn't come over until I scrolled down and found the extra entries (I had been picking the default first one). I have 2 user accounts on my local server, 1 is an Embyconnect acct and 1 local, I also have 2 remote servers on the same Embyconnect acct. In the dropdown box I have 7 choices all labeled identically for the embyconnect acct and 3 identical (but different than the embyconnect one) choices for the local account. If I'm logged into the embyconnect account those 7 show first followed by the other 3. Signed in to the local account it reverses to the local 3 first with the 7 embyconnect entries following.

Since only a few of them actually generate a download where are these options stored and how can I remove the non-working ones. My guess is they're in the server side somewhere, I've deleted the iOS Emby client and reinstalled and the entries still exist, I've disabled downloads for the local account, it causes the 'download to' button to not be there, but when reenabled the same 3 entries return. On Emby Theater local Win11 all the same entries show up.

Go to 'Devices' on your server and do 2 things:

  1. Define a custom name for your active iPad device and see if that makes a difference to that list. Right-click -> Edit Metadata
  2. Remove any inactive or old devices that you know aren't being used anymore. Right-click -> Delete

Thanks seanbuff ! hadn't ventured into devices before but should have, I had a ton, probably 30-40. Smart TV's I hadn't had in years, old browser sessions from 2-or 3 years ago, iPad's and iPhones galore, etc.

Didn't even have to rename the working one, it was easy to find because all the varients had the "Emby for iOS ver 2.2.xx" labeled and I just deleted all but the latest pair 2.2.51, one for the local and one for the embyconnect user. All's cleaned up now and everything works like a charm - Thanks again !
