Emby migration

Hi Guys,

 

i have to migrate my current emby serve which is into a Jail on TrueNAS 13.1 P5 to a new TrueNAS scale. On Scale i can deploy a container.

TrueNAS core version emby: 4.7.10.0

TrueNAS Scale version emby: 4.9.4.1

I tried different times to migrate but always get different problem and I never get to an end.

Emby has 2 dataset mountpoint in read-only where i have my multimedia files.

 

So on TrueNAS scale I have copied everything.

Now the strategy I'm using is:

1. copy "data, config, metadata" folders to trueNAS scale
2. install the emby apps as a container, then stop it
3. overwrite the folders
4. restart the apps

I'm not coming to a good end.

Sometime the apps start but I lost view films or names are not correctly restore, some other times it doesn't start correctly

Sorry to be late...

The issue was about metadata, images, names... Some of them were screwed up...

In the end I installed emby on a new plain docker container on TrueNAS scale..
May I ask here for another issue?
I don't know why but, on the new installation, all the apps like, android & FirestickTV apps has stopped working.. I can only connect  to my Emby server via browser https.

Have you any idea which type of troubleshooting I can do ?

It was some weeks ago so I don't remember it exactly, but it was something like "unable to connect". I searched for log files but  it was useless..

Meanwhile these days I saw un update available for emby container con truenasSCALE and I patched it.
Now it's working

 

Really hard to troubleshoot now and say, what's the cause...
