ab123ga 17 Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM Whenever I reboot my computer, everything else comes up within a reasonable period of time except for Emby. It will take over an hour swirling then most times I have to "restart" before I can use the system. In this example, Emby started up around 13:19ET. An hour later it is up only because I resorted to "restart". Luke 42109 Posted Sunday at 11:48 PM Posted Sunday at 11:48 PM Hi, what exactly makes you think that you need to restart?
ab123ga 17 Posted yesterday at 12:14 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:14 PM @LukeThe UI just spins whenever trying to access any page. Home, Settings, anything. It does not matter. This is the same whether I'm locally connected or from a separate system. If I do not reboot emby from the server side it never comes up. Note that I give up after an hour of waiting. Could it come up on its own after 2-3 hours, maybe but after 1 hour, I give up. Note that I could probably restart much sooner than the 1hr mark but that's the same thing. At least for me restart is the only thing that works.
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Just a note about this issue. Overnight I had a power failure that lasted long enough for my battery backup to run down and so my server failed and did not reboot until the power came back on. That meant a full reboot of everything and, except for one computer that I had forgotten to make auto restart, everything came back up with zero interaction from me. It restarted Emby and when I tested Emby worked fine and all my clients, including the web app and my Rokus and my Shield TV and my Fire Sticks, came back up and were able to access Emby with no unreasonable delay. That is a test I would have never put my system through as my health makes detailed troubleshooting difficult but, fortunately for me, everything came back up without problem and my access to Emby is as quick as it ever was and I have no problems. If I was awake when the power went out I could have done a controlled shutdown but i was not and I did not so this was an unexpected failure test that Emby passed with flying colors. I have now tested just about all Emby functionality I use and I can report that everything is as quick as it ever was. Good job Emby and thank you for the reliability you have built in.
ab123ga 17 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago @Gilgamesh_48Thanks for the feedback. Wish mine worked that way. I also have Plex on my system and that comes up unattended. Emby for some reason requires me to restart from the u/i. Again I could try leaving it alone and see if(when) it comes up on its own. However a reboot during the day with a 1-hr timeframe before I reboot won't work. At least I now know that unless something is found, try restarting much earlier.
Neminem 1560 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Do you have a bad Bios batterie in your system? 2026-03-01 14:13:25.205 Info SystemEvents: SystemEvents_TimeChanged Then a little later this 2026-03-01 14:17:07.893 Info SystemEvents: SystemEvents_TimeChanged To me this might mean system time is off at boot, or you have multipel EPG providers monitoring the same shows and fighting about time slots.
