buhochileno 6 Posted yesterday at 04:13 PM Posted yesterday at 04:13 PM Hi, Probably there is something about this in other post but can't find it so I will ask here... I recently notice that non of my androidtv are able to load the images for the "suggestions" row (not sure about the technical name of those rows that show up in your home screen with New stuff or things to play from sources). I check in a couple of mibox 2s and in a new onn 4k pro, the rows show up with text titles in each card but instead of an image is just "..." dots like is not able to load the image?...if i click on any it do open emby and the specific content fine, just not sure why are not showing up correctly...Netflix, youtube and prime are able to load their suggestions rows correctly, i try both emby versions the deprecated android tv version and the generic new one with same results... In a crapy samsung tv with tyzen os or wherever the name it does work!...the row load the image of the content just fine... What I missing here? Thanks!
js28194 38 Posted yesterday at 06:45 PM Posted yesterday at 06:45 PM You can try clearing cache and data and start over as nothing is really stored locally. The last option is uninstall and reinstall the app.

Luke 42101 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.

Luke 42101 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
buhochileno 6 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Hi, I’m having an issue with Android TV home screen recommendations coming from Emby. On multiple Android TV devices, the “suggestions/recommendations” row appears on the Android TV Home screen (cards have titles), and selecting a card opens Emby and plays the correct item — but the image/poster on the Android TV Home screen stays blank/doesn’t load. This happens with both: Emby for Android TV (2.1.23g, Registered) Emby for Android (generic beta) (3.5.28) What I’m seeing On Android TV Home screen: Emby rows appear, titles load, but the thumbnail/poster images do not (blank placeholders with 3 dots "..." like loading or missing). Clicking a card works (opens the right content and plays normally). In the attached photo you can see two Emby rows (because I have both apps installed). This also happens when only one of the apps is installed. Devices affected (same behavior) 2× MiBox S2 1× Onn 4K Pro Samsung TV (Tizen OS): Emby suggestions do populate, but the suggestions look like a mix of items + library shortcuts + login entries (not sure if expected). Server / network All devices connect to the same Emby Server on my local network: Emby Server version: 4.9.1.90 (Server OS Ubuntu 24 + install method: from official packages) Connection type: local LAN (no remote/reverse proxy involved) Steps to reproduce On an Android TV device, go to the Android TV Home screen. Navigate to the Emby “recommendations/suggestions” rows. Observe that titles appear, but images never load. Select any card → Emby opens and playback works, the row correspoding to Emby for Android TV dosn't get updated it remain with the first content from when it was install. What I tried Reinstalled both apps / tried with only one app installed Cleared cache/data, force stop, rebooted devices Logs / attachments Attached: Emby Server log from the timeframe when reproducing (full .txt, not excerpt). Attached: Photo showing the Android TV Home rows with missing images. I could not find a “Send Log” option in the Android TV app UI for this issue. I was able to capture a short log from the Android (generic) app on the Onn device (extracted from a screenshot): Logs emby_android_1772308137445.txt Sat Feb 28 16:48:57.551 GMT-03:00 2026 Updating apiclient serverinfo id: 8efd14da21614ecab5ced49d3eeb269a, Sat Feb 28 16:48:57.846 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService.onCreate Sat Feb 28 16:48:57.924 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService starting a new MediaSession Sat Feb 28 16:48:57.942 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService setting up CarHelper and WearHelper Sat Feb 28 16:48:57.949 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService calling updatePlaybackState Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.019 GMT-03:00 2026 PlaybackManager state: STATE_NONE Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.019 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService creating MediaNotificationManager Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.020 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService getting MediaRouter Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.028 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService.registerCarConnectionReceiver Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.029 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService.registerMediaNotificationReceiver Sat Feb 28 16:48:58.029 GMT-03:00 2026 MediaService.registerMediaNotificationReceiver If you need an Android TV / Fire TV app log specifically, please tell me the preferred method and I’ll reproduce and provide it.
