MediaIntelNUC 20 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) Whadap! I have read doc:s but was unable to figure this one out. I would like to add some own fanart for backdrops but my folders (series, movies, moviecollections etc..) already have alot of Fanart.jpg:s Is there a way to remove all existing fanart in bulk somewhere within Emby settings and/or Plugins? I get that i can change library settings from downloading anything in libarary settings, by choosing none of the metadata download settings, i guess that would result in nothing being downloaded going forward in adding librarys? Also, i was thinking about the "lock" function in the option to edit individual metadata only relate to the Nfo. file? Thanx! Edited 15 hours ago by MediaIntelNUC Apparently i dont know how to spell correctly
Apotropaic 41 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Hi there, are you worried about fanart being overridden or emby adding additional fanart once you’ve customised it? This shouldn’t happen, there’s an option in your library ‘After the initial import, automatically refresh metadata from the internet’ - set that to never which I believe is the default. But if you’re just interested in replacing fanart, how are you planning on adding your own fanart? If you’re going to move them into the folders manually then you could just mass delete using whatever CLI you have available on your OS. Add your new ones in and then rescan your library. If you have correctly named fanart emby should not try to download any more. If you’re going to manually edit each item in the GUI then you might as well just delete them there when you’re adding. There used to be an Emby Media Manager tool I used to use years ago, no idea if that’s still maintained but you should find info by searching the forum.
MediaIntelNUC 20 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Hi @Apotropaic Thanx for your reply! 2 hours ago, Apotropaic said: Hi there, are you worried about fanart being overridden or emby adding additional fanart once you’ve customised it? My thought was to erase existing, replace with my own and make my server not download any. Im guessing that just disableing the download option in library settings does that. 2 hours ago, Apotropaic said: But if you’re just interested in replacing fanart, how are you planning on adding your own fanart? By using the PNG:s i got, and somehow rename them to fanart1,fanart2 etc..CLI is a good idea, thanx! Yeah, there is a Bulky Media Editor plugin that ill check out. Thanx! 1
Apotropaic 41 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago No worries, I think it all depends on how much media you have, I prefer emby to down load whatever metadata and images it sees fit. For most stuff I don’t care about it’s good enough, then for films I really like I manually go in and use emby to either download some more backgrounds or replace the poster or other art. I have the bulky plugin and I did play around with it for you in case there was something easy in there. I’m not sure it will help you but take a look. There must be some standalone media manager apps out there, hopefully someone else will give you a recommendation.

There is no option within Emby for this. One would just do a blanket search on your filesystem for fanart and just delete. 15 hours ago, MediaIntelNUC said: I get that i can change library settings from downloading anything in libarary settings, by choosing none of the metadata download settings, i guess that would result in nothing being downloaded going forward in adding librarys? Correct but one should be able to just disable Backdrops setting it to 0 in your image fetcher options. 15 hours ago, MediaIntelNUC said: Also, i was thinking about the "lock" function in the option to edit individual metadata only relate to the Nfo. file? Lock is stored in DB also preventing automatic changed to item. But does not stop manual changed.
