jprobins007 24 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I am having the same problem, except the genre mapping never seems to take effect no matter how many times I refresh metadata on the library. What I have done is map the genres in my TV Shows library to combine a number of the genres. I have saved the configuration. Then done a re-scan of files in the library. Then, I refresh the metadata at the library level. THen, I wait, and nothing happens. I feel like I have missed a step in the process. Is my workflow complete or is there some other step I need to take to make the genre mapping effective?
Luke 42128 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 @jprobins007 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
jprobins007 24 Posted yesterday at 07:22 PM Author Posted yesterday at 07:22 PM I will upload some screenshots and a log. Basically, the process is: 1) open Genre Cleaner Plugin 2) got edit on TV Shows library 3) map redundant genres into one (i.e., biography, docudrama, etc. into Documentary; Action, Adventure into Action & Adventure) 4) Save and exit Genre Cleaner 5) go to Libraries 6) set TV Show library to Refresh Metadata and wait for completion. 7) after 100% reached, check genres on TV Show library (no change) 03-05-26 embyserver.txt

jprobins007 24 Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago The fact that mapping several genres into one does not result in the shows being aggregated into the one genre and the "mapped" genres do not disappear.

Has everything actually been Refreshed as the clearly show items being remapped. But testing this it remapped 42 items from Action to Action & Adventure per the map setting and removed Action from that library. Per this library nonexistent before map Action 42 items Did the quickest method and only refreshed said items, items moved from Action to Action & Adventure and deleted Action. Took a little time as a refresh of content takes a while depending on how many items you are doing (about 20 minutes for only these 42 items). Only issue I ran into was I had a couple items that were LOCKED so I had to manually unlock them to updated the metadata.
jprobins007 24 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago The Refresh Metadata on the TV Show library showed that it reached 100%, so I presume it completed. No shows were moved and the mapped genres did not disappear. I am not sure how you refreshed one genre at a time, but I will try that. I also have not checked whether any were locked. I will do so.

jprobins007 24 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago I guess I just don't know what you mean by a specific example if I have not given one already, with screenshots and log. 18 minutes ago, Luke said: HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !

Some shows were locked as you suggested. I unlocked all the shows within a particular mapped genre then refreshed metadata on that genre. Still no change. I also note that there are a few empty genres that have been mapped into other genres. Even though they are empty and mapped out, they are still showing up as active genres.
