GoldSpacer 11 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Hopefully the title makes sense. Basically, if I'm watching a movie or show and I turn off the TV, go to the streaming device's home page, or in some other way leave the Emby Android app in the middle of playing content, if I go back into the Emby app after some time passes, there's a good chance Emby will reopen to that movie or show where it can be resumed at the point it was stopped. The problem is there's also a good chance that the Emby app will be frozen. Sometimes Emby outright crashes after hitting the back button enough, sometimes it's able to recover and it backs out to the content details page. This happens on the new Google TV Streamer 4k, NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (2019), and the new Amazon Fire TV Cube. I've been testing the Emby for Android TV app recently and I haven't noticed the same behavior on it. Anyone else see this behavior? Is it a known issue or is there a workaround?

Don't know what version of the Universal Android app (Emby for Android) you're running, but there are probably many behaviors you won't see in Emby for Android TV...because it was designed to run on TVs. The Universal app seems to work well on mobile devices, but not so well on TVs...imho, it's not so "Universal". It's been several months since I last tried the Universal Android app on my Shield TV Pro (2019) , but I DO recall the behavior you describe (among many other issues). For me, the "workaround" was to continue using the Android TV app until they sunset it. Not sure if your issue is a documented known issue, but you can check here to see: https://emby.media/community/topic/89802-emby-for-android-match-androidtv-app/ Edited February 23 by rdhardi

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
GoldSpacer 11 Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 @LukeI reproduced the issue of the content freezing and emby app crashing with logging enabled. It looks like the way to get the logs on the Emby for Android app on the TV is a bit different from what is in the link that you shared, I went into the app settings and under 'Emby for Android Settings', then Logs, I enabled logging and I have the logs, but whenever I select them and go to share, it just opens up the Amazon silk browser. Is there an easy way to share them?
