Bash103 7 Posted Saturday at 06:43 AM Posted Saturday at 06:43 AM Why does Emby revert my audio selection when it’s TrueHD? This happens regardless of what is used to set it (browser, iOS, or AppleTv). Also, could we get a setting to turn off audio transcoding and just pass it through as LPCM when it’s not a supported AppleTv format? Let my receiver handle the decoding. Let my receiver handle the decoding. If you take away transcoding permissions for the user that is using the Apple TV it will allow the Apple TV to convert the TrueHD stream to LCPM. Keep in mind this can cause issues if you use this user on other devices that are not capable of converting audio. For a more information on this check out this thread:

The end goal is to be able to get away from Infuse for my movies. Right now that is what I have to use to get the audio passthrough for non DD audio. I just want the best audio experience I can get and Dolby Digital is on the low end of that. I'll take LCPM over AC3. I always select what I believe to be the highest quality choice (IMHO) available and want it passed to my AppleTV. That way if the format is supported it will be used, otherwise it will be LPCM. Bash103 7 Posted Sunday at 01:08 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:08 AM Maybe the transcoding setting should be a device setting vs user setting. Then you could have it transcode on a mobile device, but not a home theater/TV device, etc.

I've mentioned this to the developers and they said they should be able to update the app to fix this. On 2/13/2026 at 8:18 AM, ebr said: Okay, great, that's exactly what I was trying to get to. We should be able to change the app to no longer require the remux/audio conversion and that will solve the issue for you. It was from this thread: Edited 1 hour ago by alex77777
