Cooljag 0 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hi, Long time follower first time poster... Not too sure what the rules are for new topics vs adding a thread to an existing one, so please be kind I'm not sure what's going on but I am unable to use the app on my daughter's phone. Sequence of events: Today I installed Emby (latest 3.5.28) on her Samsung Galaxy S10. When opening the app to set it up, the splash screen (Emby logo) appears, a spinner briefly appears and goes away. After a while (30s+) I give up, close the app from recents and try to re-open. Same result (spinner and then nothing, just Emby logo visible). Cleared cache and data for the app, same result. Uninstall, reinstall from Play store, same result. Uninstall, switch to beta channel, reinstall, same result. Uninstall, download a couple of old versions of the .apk online and same result. I attempted on different internet connections (tethered and via VPN) and can access the NAS via the URL on the phone, but the app still won't load in. Checked that I can access app.emby.media on chrome on the same device - all fine there. So this is on a fresh install and I'm unable to reach even the server selection/emby connect login page I'm used to. Very strange. Any help appreciated! Screen_Recording_20260217_185552_Emby.mp4
Luke 42140 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Hi. If you give it more time does an error message eventually come up?
Cooljag 0 Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 (edited) Hi @Lukethanks for the quick response, no nothing appears I left it for about 10 mins (the screen locked) and nothing appears or changes. Very strange behaviour. Edited February 18 by Cooljag
Solution Cooljag 0 Posted February 21 Author Solution Posted February 21 The issue has gone away, will save your time investigating and close this thread. When I say "gone away", I cleared all cache and data for both Google Play Services and the Google Play Store, restarted the device, tried on a different internet connection (failed) reset all data and cache of Emby app, tried again on my normal connection when I got home and it worked ... Thanks
